TIN HINAN, THE LAST NOMAD
Feature-length documentary directed by Leïla Artese Benhadj and produced by Les Valseurs with the support of CNC COSIP, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, Procirep-Angoa, Tënk, the Institut Français d'Algérie, and the Doha Film Institute. I worked as an editor on this film. In post-production.
SYNOPSIS
"Leïla, the director of the film, embarks on a journey across the Algerian Sahara in search of Tin Hinan, the ancestral Berber queen of the Tuareg people. Accompanied by her mother on this adventure, Leïla crosses paths with Fatimata and her six-year-old daughter Lella, the last representatives of a nomadic way of life that is disappearing. A personal, familial, and sisterly story that explores themes of transmission, mother-daughter relationships, and the traditions of a people and way of life that are struggling to withstand modernity.
